On Saturday afternoon, the Weekend Appreciation Team, aka me (Kristen) and Allison, plus my husband, went to Page Farms in Raleigh to pick strawberries.  Lots and lots of strawberries.

Page Farms

Page Farms is just behind Brier Creek, so it is incredibly convienent to anyone in the Triangle area.  And with pick your own strawberries for just $1.50 a pound, it makes fresh, local strawberries very affordable!  We had a great time picking over two hours – and we certainly weren’t the only ones out picking.  Local Triangle residents clearly love their strawberries!

There are lots of strawberries farms in the local area – Triangle Localista had a good list a few weeks ago.  And NC Farm Fresh and the NC Strawberry Growers Association both have good complete lists of pick your own farms.

Yum!

Combined we picked 40 pounds of strawberries!  Which we then went home and turned into strawberry jam (how-to post on that upcoming!)

What we took home!
